Sites Covering Kev’s Patch

Let me know via the comments below if you see this idea discussed anywhere, and I’ll add a link here! I want to maintain a timeline of how events unfold, hopefully leading up to the opening of the vegie patch at The Lodge.

Bloggers, this is a good opportunity for you to get a backlink and join the conversation!

  • 01-04-2009: ABC Canberra – Peter Cundall’s idea was discussed on radio and listeners weighed in with their thoughts
  • 23-05-2009: The Australian – Stephanie Alexander calls for the Rudds to start a vegetable garden
  • 03-06-2009: I wrote a page titled “Kev’s Patch” calling for bloggers to join the push to get the PM to put in a vegie patch.
  • 03-06-2009: The Christian Science Monitor – liked what the Obamas had done, and thought it was great that there was a push to do something similar in Australia
  • 04-06-2009: The Greening Of Gavin (blog) – Gav joins the push with a fantastic writeup! Also some good sample letters to send to Kevin Rudd.
  • 05-06-2009: Our Cosmic Garden (blog) – “Gotta get ourselves back to the garden…”
  • 06-06-2009: Go Greener Australia (blog) – Julie is onboard, and published a sample letter you can send to the PM.
  • 08-06-2009: the official Kev’s Patch campaign blog is online! Thanks to Julie and Gavin for teaming up with me on this (and Julie for actually getting it online!).
  • 19-06-2009: Towards Sustainability (blog) – another Julie who thinks it’s a great idea.
  • 20-06-2009: The Melton Sustainable Living Group (blog) is another group calling for Kev to get digging.
  • 21-06-2009: Lightening’s Garden (blog) – questions whether Kev’s Patch would just be a publicity stunt, and thinks the government should instead fund basic gardening courses and provide some simple gardening supplies. I wish!
  • 24-06-2009: Cathy’s Capers (blog) – helping to get the word out to her readers.
