The First Quarter lunar phase for June 2009 runs from 31 May – 8 Jun. The full moon on June 8 is known traditionally as the “Flower Moon”.
The First Quarter is the time for planting above-ground annual fruiting crops, green manures and flowering annuals in the traditional lunar planting calendar.
For information on what to do in the various climate zones around Australia in the First Quarter phase, check out Aussie Organic Gardening’s What To Plant In June entry.
