One of the community groups I belong to, Jamberoo FutureCare, recently teamed up with local documentary filmmaker Russell Hawkins to apply for a cultural grant from Kiama Council. Our proposal was to make a documentary about local people trying to live more sustainably.
Lucky for us, Council liked the idea and awarded us funding to produce it.
There’s an article in today’s Kiama Independent (we snagged the front page!) with a little more info.
Over the next few days I’ll post some more information about what we’re trying to do, and how and why. Hopefully sharing details from successful grant applications will help other people to realise similar projects in the future!
