It’s always useful to look at how other people approach permaculture design projects, and how they present them to their clients (or themselves!).
Here I’ve collected as many sample permaculture designs as I could find. Some are highly polished and commercial, others are more informal. Some are heavy reading with lots of facts and figures, while others are full of pretty pictures.
Please email me if you find other examples of permaculture designs online – I’d love to include as many as I can!
- First off, here is a very visual collection of permaculture plans from students at a Milkwood Permaculture Design Certificate course. There’s not a lot of words or details to go along with the plans, but the designs are inspiring.
- A very detailed permaculture design plan for Alderleaf Farm, a 15-acre property, prepared by Alderleaf Wilderness College. This one contains good examples of maps, site history, zoning, phased implementation, and species of interest (both sensitive and invasive).
- A nice example of a hand-drawn map from a farmlet in western Washington, USA.
