Local Green Business – Eco Manifesto

16 March 2009 4 Comments

Local Green Business Eco ManifestoI love discovering new local green businesses. Today for some reason I checked out the public noticeboard in the Kiama View shopping center, and noticed a business card for Eco Manifesto. It didn’t have much information on it, but the name intrigued me so I looked them up when I got home to see what they were about.

Eco Manifesto is a family-run business operating out of Gerringong, selling sustainable living products like beeswax candles, personal care products, homewares, green cleaning supplies, books, toys and more.

The owners, Chrissy and Simon, started learning about natural products when their daughter suffered from allergies and eczema, and they found that eliminating artificial-chemical-laden products from their home helped her condition. As they learned more about natural alternatives and sustainable living, their desire to help others led to the establishment of a business selling these products. They sell both via their web site and through local markets.

Support a local business, buy sustainable products, and improve your home environment. Check them out!

@Donna: The holiday was awesome! Just the time-out we both needed. Still haven’t got fully back into the swing of things, though – I need to write some more articles this week!

@HappyEarth: I love finding new (or new to me) local green businesses. I also found out about a local aquaculture supplier – I’ll be visiting him (hopefully soon!) to check out his setup and take some photos for the blog. Should be very interesting.
