I previously posted a list of online resources I found useful (for both plans and inspiration) when designing our chicken tractor.

I’ve had a few emails from people who lack either the time or the inclination to build their own, and would like to purchase a ready-made chicken tractor. So here are some of the Australian commercial ones I know of (links below the pictures):

Book A Chook chicken tractor City Chicks chicken tractor McCallum Made chicken tractor Royal Rooster chicken tractor Southport Showplace chicken tractor

Don’t be put off by the physical locations of these manufacturers – check out their web sites. Most have reasonable shipping options Australia-wide.

If you know of any Australian chicken tractors not listed here, please add a link to the comments below!

Oh, and don’t forget – if you are looking for chickens to buy, have a look at my Where To Buy Chickens page.

  1. Here is a link to a maintenance free aluminum chicken tractor.

  2. Thanks Tammy. I was really after chicken tractors available in Australia (I’ve since edited the post above to be more explicit).

For those in the US, though, your tractor looks quite good and very sturdy.

  3. Hey Darren,

Dave from Rentachook in Ryde also sells chicken tractors (with and without the chooks).

  4. Thanks, I’ve added Rentachook to the list! I’ll have to buy one of those chicken tooth files from him – I’ve never seen them advertised anywhere else, and $10 sounds very reasonable :-) .

  5. Hi Darren,

I just wanted to another link- http://www.mountainarks.com.au/ we purchased an ark from this company in the BLue Mountains NSW for our chlidren for Christmas. We have the large one and keep 4 chooks, let them free range when we are home.

    Love your blog, cheers, Lisa

  6. Thanks for the compliment, Lisa! And thanks for the link. I’m adding it now…
