Lots of photos from the Kiama Sustainability Expo and Kiama Community Garden Open Day, held on Sunday. There were lots of local organisations and businesses present, as well as celebrity gardener Costa from SBS. What a top day!

It sounds really fancy, but it’s actually just a practical way to use up duck egg yolks after making lots of meringues with the whites! Home made pesto is quick and delicious accompaniment that does the pasta justice.
Jamberoo Community Growers, a local gardening club affiliated with the Garden Clubs Of Australia, is selling flower bulbs as a fundraiser. We’re hoping to raise enough money to cover our insurance for the year, and maybe some running costs as well.

We had a fantastic presentation today at the Jamberoo Community Growers meeting, by the people from Organic Crop Protectants. A big part of the talk was on organic fruit fly control, using their “eco-naturalure” male fruit fly trap and attractant/insecticide products. I attended an event at the Kiama Library last night, “Sustaining The Library”, put on by the Kiama Greens. Ten years ago, The Greens donated about $1200 worth of books and CDs about the environment and sustainability to the Kiama Library. Last night they did it again.
